The Role

We’re on the lookout for a Principal Data Consultant to join our growing consultancy and help leading organisations unlock the full value of their data. If you thrive on solving complex problems, architecting scalable solutions, and guiding clients from strategy through to implementation—this role is for you.

You’ll be a trusted advisor and seen as the thought-leader in client engagements, ideating, and solving problems using your extensive and deep technical expertise. You'll be able to lead our delivery teams, guide the solution, and manage project deliveries with ease and experience.

Key Responsibilities

You will be reporting to the Head of Customer Delivery and have the following primary responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic engagements — help clients define and deliver data and AI roadmaps.
  • Shape modern data and AI platforms — from architecture to implementation across a variety of ecosystems including MS Fabric, Databricks, and Snowflake.
  • Drive client relationships — working closely with business and technical stakeholders to define outcomes and ensure delivery excellence.
  • Guide governance and quality — architect and engineer solutions to industry standards, using best-practices, approaches, and methodologies.
  • Mentor and uplift — coach mid-level consultants and support capability development within the team.
  • Innovate — stay ahead of emerging trends across the breath of the data, analytics, and AI domains.
About You

You’re a confident, collaborative, innovative, and have held senior consulting or delivery roles. You have a can-do attitude, flexible in your approach, and are comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments and solving complex challenges. You bring deep technical knowledge, a willingness to learn and share, and a genuine interest in delivering better solutions and value-add for our clients.

Required Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • 15+ years in data consulting, architecture, or advanced analytics roles.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field.
  • Deep experience and track record with deliverying cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, MS Fabric, BigQuery or similar).
  • Experience with data transformation and orchestration solutions (dbt, Coalesce, Apache Airflow, Prefect).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills – from exec-level to engineering teams.
  • Expertise in data strategy, data governance, data architecture and modelling, data engineering, and advanced analytics.
  • Ability to translate complexity into clarity for business users.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML enablement, data mesh, or industry-specific frameworks
  • Certifications in cloud technologies, tools, and methodologies i.e. Databricks, Snowflake, MS Fabric, Kimball data modelling, PRINCE2, Agile, DAMA.
  • Experience in the sales cycle and commercials i.e. proposal responses, statements of work etc.
Bonus Points

The following are not mandatory but would be viewed favourably.

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Exposure to AI/ML data pipelines, real-time streaming architectures, Agentic AI solutions.
  • Experience in leading people.
